Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TravellerSeed at travellerseed.com (the "Site"), built and maintained by Telly Jameson at My Startup ("TravellerSeed", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What TravellerSeed is

TravellerSeed is a free travel information dashboard. It brings together public and open data — countries, airports, historical flight routes, weather forecasts, exchange rates, time zones and public holidays — alongside guides we write and links to travel partners. There are no accounts, subscriptions or paid tiers.

2. Information only — not professional advice

TravellerSeed is provided "as is" for informational purposes. Weather forecasts, currency rates, flight routes, and holiday dates are sourced from third parties and may be incorrect or out of date. Always verify with authoritative sources (official government sites, airline confirmations, your bank) before making travel or financial decisions.

In particular:

  • Entry rules: nothing on the Site is immigration or legal advice. Visa, ETA, passport-validity, health and customs rules change often and depend on your nationality — confirm them with the destination government and your carrier.
  • Flights: route data is a historical snapshot and flight times are estimates calculated from distance. They are not schedules, and an airline listed on a route may no longer fly it.
  • Money: exchange rates are reference rates for information only. They are not offers to exchange currency, and banks and providers will charge different rates and fees. Nothing on the Site is financial advice.
  • Weather: forecasts can be wrong. For flight decisions, check with your airline.
  • Health and safety: for vaccinations, medicines and safety advice, consult a qualified professional and your government's official travel advice.

3. Third-party content and data

Reference content is sourced from third parties (see /sources). We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or availability. Third-party data remains subject to its own licence — for example, OpenFlights route data is published under the Open Database License (ODbL), Wikipedia text under CC BY-SA 4.0, and photographs under the Unsplash License. Where a licence requires attribution or share-alike terms, those terms continue to apply to that data.

4. Affiliate links and partner sites

Affiliate links funding the site are disclosed at /disclosure. Clicking them may earn us a commission at no cost to you.

Partner websites are operated by independent companies. Any booking or purchase you make there is a contract between you and that company, on its terms, prices and policies. We are not a travel agent, tour operator, insurer or money-transmission business; we do not sell travel, process payments or handle bookings, and we are not responsible for partners' products, services, availability, refunds or customer support.

5. Acceptable use

You may not scrape, mirror, or resell this site's content or datasets. Local browser data belongs to you.

You also agree not to:

  • use bots, scripts or automated tools to download pages or call our /api or /out endpoints in bulk, or to inflate affiliate click counts;
  • attempt to bypass rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with the Site's security or performance;
  • present TravellerSeed pages, data or guides as your own, or frame the Site within another site;
  • use the Site for anything unlawful.

Personal, non-commercial use — reading, sharing links, printing a page for your trip, quoting short extracts with a link back — is always welcome. For anything else, email us first.

6. Our content

The Site's design, code, guides, graphics and original text are owned by TravellerSeed or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and other laws. The TravellerSeed name and logo may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement without our written permission. Partner names and logos belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify them.

7. Your data

Favorites, saved routes and trips are stored only in your browser. You are responsible for backing them up (use Export on the Settings page) — if you clear your browser data or change devices, we cannot restore them. How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the Site, including features, data sources and partners, at any time and without notice. Third-party services we rely on may become unavailable, which can make parts of the Site temporarily inaccurate or empty.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

Limitation of liability: we are not responsible for missed flights, incorrect currency conversions, visa issues, or any other travel outcomes based on the information shown here.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TravellerSeed will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of money, bookings, data or opportunity, arising from your use of the Site or of any partner's services. Because the Site is free, our total liability for any claim related to it is limited to the amount you paid us to use it — which is nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Indemnity

If you misuse the Site in breach of these Terms — for example, by scraping or attacking it — you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs we incur as a result.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law

Governing law: Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved under Nigerian law. If you live elsewhere, you keep any mandatory consumer protections that the law of your country gives you.

14. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
